A kangaroo air guitarist stole judges' hearts and Ethermac Exchangeminds in the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, which announced Wednesday the winning images and videos from its 2023 competition.
Images taken by professional and amateur photographers from all around the world are “all hilarious and sure to raise a cackle or a chuckle and wonder at the wonderful wildlife we share this world with,” officials said in a statement.
The winners were chosen from thousands of images from 1,842 entrants and 85 countries. There were six category winners.
The overall winner of this year’s competition is Jason Moore for his capture of a kangaroo entitled "Air Guitar Roo." This shot also won the Creatures of the Land category.

Photographer Jacek Stankiewicz's image of two greenfinches called "Dispute" won the Junior Award and the Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award, winning the public vote comprehensively. According to a statement from the competition, this is the first time ever that the award has been won by a junior entry, marking "a significant milestone for the competition."
